Workshop·Live, one to one·Two classes · two hours
Step by step

One live meeting, one to one, on Zoom. The time is arranged with you. It serves if you are starting, or if you write and the poem stays an idea. There is no filmed class in English.
The poem does not begin with the correction.
Ground
The pretty sentence at the start leaves the experience outside. The poem has nowhere to come from.
Aim
- Tell apart experiencing, incubating, inventing, and composing, and do not mix them.
- Move from one concrete observation to a line, without staying in the adjective.
- Order a short text in which what is felt and what is said do not cancel each other.
It trains
Walk the four phases without mixing them.
Contents
1The four phases
1.1Experience
Stay with the thing and with what it does to you. There is no poem yet.
1.2Incubate
What the experience left: a feeling, a belief, an image that insists.
1.3Invent
Write without correcting. If you judge in this phase, the material does not appear.
2From the thing to the line
2.1The concrete
“Tall and large” cannot be seen. You look for the thing that shows it.
2.2The paradox
A norm the line cuts, so it is not only description.
2.3Together
Image, feeling, and coherence. If one is missing, the line falls apart.
3Compose
3.1Order
What appeared in the invention is put on a path.
3.2No contradiction
Spirit, heart, mind, and body have to be able to be in the same text.
3.3Read it
A short text, from start to end, without explaining it again.
Questions
Does it work if I have never written a poem?
Yes. It is the entry guide. You do not need a finished text.
Is it a video?
No. It is live, one to one. You email me and we set the time.
When is it?
When we agree. There is no fixed date and no waiting list.
What if I don't think of myself as a poet?
You don't have to. The work is a text of yours. A short draft is enough. If there is no poem, one sentence is enough.
