Workshop·Live, one to one·Two classes · two hours
Ordering the draft

Two live meetings, one to one, on Zoom. The times are arranged with you. First you see what the draft is saying. If there is more than one subject, they are separated. Ornament does not enter these two meetings.
Two subjects in the same line are not richness. They are noise.
Ground
Two subjects in the same line are not richness. They are noise. Ornament waits until the order is clear.
Aim
- Separate the subjects that got mixed in the draft.
- Order a path, without adding ornament.
- Leave with a version that can be read from start to finish.
It trains
Leave one path that can be read straight through.
Contents
1The diagnosis
1.1What it says
Before improving it, you name what it is talking about.
1.2What is mixed
Two subjects in the same line are not richness. They are noise.
1.3No ornament
You do not look for the pretty line while the order is not there.
2Separate
2.1One subject at a time
You note each matter apart, without rewriting yet.
2.2Segment
If the message has several subjects, you split it. You do not force one.
2.3Leave it out
What does not belong on this path is kept, not argued.
3One path
3.1From start to end
An order you can follow without going back to explain.
3.2The cut
You take out what is extra once the path is clear.
3.3Read it through
The test is simple: you read it straight through and you see where it goes.
Questions
Does a very disordered draft work?
That is the one it serves most. If it is already ordered, this workshop will be too short for you.
Will my style be corrected?
Not in these two classes. Order first. Style is another piece of work.
Is it a video?
No. It is live, one to one. The times are arranged by email.
Can I write before I reserve?
Yes. Tell me in the email how the draft is, and we see whether this is the workshop.
What if I don't think of myself as a poet?
You don't have to. The work is a text of yours. A short draft is enough. If there is no poem, one sentence is enough.

Next workshop: Clinic of a poem.
